Project Overview

The owner of this 1982 home contacted MROOF because the shingles around his solar panels had worn out over time. Even without leaks, he wanted a reliable long-term solution, so we upgraded the roof to a Standing Seam metal system designed for secure solar panel installation.

Project Challenges

The main challenge MROOF faced was working around the existing solar panels. The shingles were uneven and worn out, so we had to carefully prepare the roof and install precise strapping to make the surface flat and ready for the Standing Seam panels.

Installation Process

Stage 2: Roof Preparation & Membrane

We inspected and prepared the roof base after panel removal. A synthetic membrane was installed over the shingles for extra protection. This created a secure barrier before moving to the next stage.

Stage 1: Solar Panel Removal

We carefully removed the existing solar panels from the roof. Each connection was handled with care to avoid damage. This allowed us to fully access and prepare the roof surface.

Stage 3: Double Wood Strapping

We installed double wood strapping across the entire roof area. The spacing was precise to meet Standing Seam requirements. This ensured a flat and solid surface for the metal panels.

Stage 4: Metal Panel Installation

We installed the Standing Seam metal panels with attention to detail. The system has no exposed screws for a clean finish. The roof is now ready for secure solar panel reinstallation.

Results

MROOF delivered a clean Standing Seam metal roof that gives the home long-term protection. The solar panels can now be reinstalled using a secure clip system, without drilling into the metal, giving the homeowner peace of mind for years to come.
