Project Overview

The homeowner called us during a harsh winter.He had ice dam problems and a lot of snow on his roof. The skylight above the main entrance was leaking. When we arrived, there were almost three feet of snow on the roof, so we could not start the project right away. We began the work at the beginning of April. We installed double wood strapping across the roof. We removed the outdated skylight and fitted a new curb-mounted model designed for metal roofing. Then we completed the home with a ThyssenKrupp steel roof built for long-term performance. The finished result delivered lasting protection, and the homeowners were so pleased that they are already planning their next roof with us.

Project Challenges

The challenges MROOF Team had were the heavy snow and harsh winter conditions. When we first visited, there was almost three feet of snow on the roof, so we could not start the work. Even weeks later, the roof was still covered. So we waited till the weather conditions were suitable and started the project in April.

Installation Process

Stage 2: Double Wood Strapping

We installed double wood strapping across the entire roof surface. This created a strong and stable base. It also improved ventilation under the future metal roof system.

Stage 1: Roof Inspection

We visited the house to inspect the roof. We checked the skylight area and evaluated the ice dam damage. Due to heavy snow, we carefully reviewed the roof conditions and planned the project before starting the work.

Stage 3: Skylight Replacement

We removed the old leaking skylight. We installed a new curb-mounted skylight designed to properly fit a metal roof. This ensured better sealing and long-term protection.

Stage 4: Metal Roof Installation

We installed the metal panels according to our technique. Each panel was carefully aligned and secured across the roof. We followed our installation system to ensure proper fit and long-term performance.

Results

We replaced the leaking skylight with a new curb-mounted model. It now properly fits the metal roof system. The ice dam issue was resolved. The roof now has proper protection and ventilation. We installed a new metal roof made to last and require little maintenance. The home is now protected, and the homeowners no longer worry about leaks in winter.

My dealings with MROOF from the point of the product, the price, the communication and the final quality exceeded all my expectations.
