Project Overview
This project was part of a new construction site where the client, a construction company, asked us to complete the tool shed roof first. They wanted to see the quality of our work before moving forward with the main building. While they were initially considering a Standing Seam roof, we предложили Modern profile as a cost-effective alternative that looks very similar from a distance. The installation was completed in winter using Roofnado LapLock membrane, double wood strapping, and the Modern metal profile system.
Project Challenges
Since this was a new construction, we started from bare plywood, which required proper membrane protection before any structural layers were added. The project also took place during winter, which meant careful timing and material handling. Another key factor was helping the client choose the right profile. They were considering Standing Seam, but we had to present a solution that offered a similar look at a lower cost without compromising performance.
Installation Process
Stage 2: Double Wood Strapping
After the membrane was installed, we added a double wood strapping system. This provides proper ventilation, structural support, and a secure base for the metal panels.
Stage 1: Membrane Protection
Because it was a new build, we first applied Roofnado LapLock ice and water shield membrane directly over the plywood. This created the primary protective layer and ensured the roof deck was fully sealed before moving to the next stage.
Stage 3: Modern Metal Profile Installation
We then installed the Modern metal profile. One of the key advantages of this system is that every panel is custom-made for the project. The panels go from the ridge to the eaves in one continuous piece.
Stage 4: Finalization & Inspection
Once installation was complete, we checked all connections, ridge components, and finishing details to ensure everything was secure and properly aligned. The result met the client’s expectations, confirming that the same profile will soon be installed on the main building.
Results
The tool shed roof was completed successfully, demonstrating both the quality of our work and the advantages of the Modern profile as an alternative to Standing Seam. The project was accomplished perfectly, and based on this result, the client has decided to move forward with the same profile for the main house on the site.
