Project Overview
MROOF just completed a full metal roof upgrade for this home. The homeowners stopped fixing their old roof. They wanted a roof that would last. The shingles were old and not reliable. We removed the solar panels before we started the new roof system. We applied a Strotex Dynamic membrane to protect the roof base. After that, we installed a green metal roof. The color was chosen to match the green garage doors and to support the green energy concept of the home. The homeowners were very happy with the final result and gave us a video review.
Project Challenges
The main challenge was the leakage around the solar panels. The water flooded inside the kitchen during the winter and springtime. After we removed the solar panels, we checked the roof base. We made sure no moisture damage was left. We applied the Strotex Dynamic membrane with extra care. Waterproofing was very important. We wanted to make sure this problem would not happen again.
Installation Process
Stage 2: Membrane and Metal Panel Installation
After we installed the ice and water shield membrane for leak protection, we started installing the green metal panels. Each panel was aligned properly and secured to create a strong and even surface.
Stage 1: Solar Panel Removal
We started by removing the solar panels. After that, we checked the roof base carefully. We made sure there was no hidden moisture damage left from the leakage.
Stage 3: Finishing Touches
At this stage, we installed ridge caps and snow stops. These details help protect the roof and improve its performance during winter.
Stage 4: Solar Panel Reinstallation
After the metal roof was completed, the solar panels were installed back by the solar panel company. The new roof system was fully ready to support them safely.
Results
The green metal roof solved the leakage problem around the solar panels. The kitchen is no longer at risk of flooding during winter and springtime. The Strotex Dynamic membrane now protects the roof base from moisture. The house got a new green metal roof that matches the garage doors and highlights the green energy concept. The homeowners were very happy with the result and gave us a video review.
