Project Overview

We recently completed a metal roof upgrade for a minimalist European-style home in Brampton, creating a durable solution that perfectly matched the home’s modern aesthetic. The homeowners, eager to replace their aging shingles, wanted a roof that preserved the architectural charm of their house while delivering a timeless and stylish upgrade

Project Challenges

The main challenge was addressing a damaged chimney with broken bricks, which required repair before the roof installation. We coordinated with a contractor to fix it, ensuring a stable base for the new roof. Additionally, the home’s unique architectural lines required custom wall flashings to preserve its minimalist design. Lastly, we installed a protective mesh over the ridge vents to deter raccoons and ensure proper ventilation

Installation Process

Stage 1: Wood Strapping and Roof Preparation

We began by installing vertical wood strapping over the existing shingles, anchoring it securely to the rafters. Horizontal wood straps were then added to create a stable and ventilated base for the metal panels. This step ensured a solid foundation for the new roof while improving ventilation and preventing moisture buildup

Stage 2: Chimney Repairs and Flashing Installation

The damaged chimney was repaired by a trusted contractor to provide a secure starting point for the roof installation. Once completed, we installed starter flashings around the roof perimeter, focusing on areas around the chimney and valleys, ensuring proper water management and a watertight seal

Stage 3: Metal Panel Installation

Mocha brown bone-style metal tiles were installed, starting at the bottom and working upwards, with each panel carefully overlapped for a tight, watertight seal. New custom flashings were added around the chimney to ensure full waterproofing. Ridge caps were installed to protect roof edges and add a polished finish

Stage 4: Ventilation and Final Touches

To secure the ventilation system, we added a protective ridge mesh to the vent outlets, preventing raccoons and other animals from accessing the roof while ensuring proper airflow. Finally, we installed the gables and custom wall flashings, crafted to maintain the home’s architectural design and provide a polished, modern finish. These steps completed the project with a focus on both functionality and style
